After a year of postponements due to the pandemic, in August 2022 Quito hosted the IPS World Congress of Primatology — a historic 5-day event with over 5 simultaneous rooms and thousands of attendees connected worldwide.
The congress faced the challenge of returning to in-person conditions safely. Biosecurity measures shaped every detail: social distancing in rooms, mandatory masks for attendees and technical staff, daily health checks, and the ongoing uncertainty of COVID.
It was also the first time this international meeting adopted a hybrid format. Thanks to Andes Multimedia, speakers could present live in Quito or connect from anywhere in the world, including remote jungle stations. For the first time, the audience could choose to attend in person or connect virtually, multiplying the event’s reach.
Our team handled the entire audiovisual and streaming production: connecting speakers and attendees, managing screens, capturing audio, mixing multiple sources, closed-circuit cameras, remote feeds, and multi-platform streaming. The success was such that we were invited on stage to present the results live to the international scientific community.
The 2022 IPS World Congress was not only memorable for its scientific content but also for the innovation in its hybrid format. Live streaming for the Ligue Experience at Sports Planet, Quito, Ecuador. A hybrid event with on-site and online audiences where fans interacted live with national team players. We leveraged the venue’s screens and a mix of fixed and mobile cameras for a dynamic, engaging experience.
Full production for this innovative urban project launch in Quito. Using our Optoma short-throw projector we created a 15 m² screen for the in-person audience, plus split-screen layouts and a multi-camera system for the virtual audience.
